This week was so amazing. We have Mey on date to be baptized and Rina is slowly progressing as well. We are out to find a lot of new investigators these next couple weeks. We baptized most all of our progressing investigators, some went to Thailand and some we dropped so we went from 16 to 3. We are trying to find the elite and be effective with our time so hopefully we can find some new people this week. As we were contacting last night we walked past this girl who I recognized and remembered her name from a month or so ago and she said that she really wants to learn and told us to come back today so miracles happen everyday!
ELDER BEDNAR came and talked to the missionaries for 3 hours and the spirit the instant he walked into the room was so strong I was bawling my eyes out basically the whole meeting. I received so many spiritual impressions and corrections and was so thankful that I was able to attend this meeting. Elder Bednar taught me a lot about teaching in the Savior's way and how to be an effective and powerful teacher. He asked so many inspired questions and turned this into quite a revelatory meeting. One of the biggest things I learned was how important it is to be an agent. We need to constantly be acting to keep up with the spirit. Often the answers to our questions come as we are acting and so sometimes we just need to leap into the darkness and have faith acting on what we know and then we receive assurance. As I was reflecting on this meeting it reminded me of the story of the Israelites.
The Israelites came to the river Jordan and were promised the waters would part, and they would be able to cross over on dry ground. Interestingly, the waters did not part as the children of Israel stood on the banks of the river waiting for something to happen; rather, the soles of their feet were wet before the water parted. The faith of the Israelites was shown in the fact that they walked into the water before it parted.
I think a lot of times in our lives we stand on the shore waiting for something to happen, but as we press forward with faith and step into the water, we will receive assurance that the Savior is always on our side and that we will receive help as we are acting. BEING AN AGENT IS SO IMPORTANT, don't wait to be acted upon but act even if you have to step into the darkness for a couple steps before you see the light again.
