This week was a lot of meetings and traveling. We went down to the city for MLC and we were able to meet the new mission President Lewis and his wife. They seem great! I had a prompting to go and visit on of my old investigators in the city once we got there because we had a little bit of extra time and she was SO HAPPY to see me! It was so fun, she said she had been praying that I would come visit her, her name is Srei Lek and she gets baptized this week! She fed me and my comp free dinner at her parents place and it was fun to catch up with her. The gospel has changed her so much and you can just see the light radiating from her.
We also meet the Lewis' and had interviews with President, I am looking forward to getting to know them better. Om Uian was supposed to get baptized this week but the branch president asked us to change it to next week because we have an activity this Saturday for the pioneers so she will be getting baptized next week hopefully along with Thida!
The 4 college students can only meet us once a week so we hope to keep helping them they are great! We are moving houses today which should be good fun all the elders are coming to help to move the fridges and washer and beds and things. We got some boxes to pack up this house this week it was a little tricky getting them home on our bikes but we are excited for a new place.
There have been a million parades and a lot of campaigning going on for the election in a couple weeks, hopefully we wont have too many riots but it is definitely getting crazy should be an interesting next couple weeks..
I have been trying to figure out how I can be a better disciple and how to improve in my discipleship.
"The journey of discipleship i s not an easy one. It has been called a “course of steady im provement.”2 As we travel alon g that strait and narrow path, the Spirit continually challe nges us to be better and to cl imb higher. The Holy Ghost mak es an ideal traveling companio n. If we are humble and teacha ble, He will take us by the ha nd and lead us home. "
The Holy Ghost is like a wrapped gift that we all receive when we get baptized. If we don't open it (or receive it), it can't function in our lives. There is no point in receiving a present if we aren't going to open it. I know that as we truly receive the Holy Ghost in our lives he will lead us by the hand.
"The Holy Ghost doesn’t tell u s to improve everything at onc e. If He did, we would become discouraged and give up. The S pirit works with us at our own speed, one step at a time, or as the Lord has taught, “line upon line, precept upon prece pt, … and blessed are those wh o hearken unto my precepts, … for unto him that receiveth I will give more. "
As we respond to the promptings we receive, we get more promptings and gradually we become more and more like our Father in Heaven. We need to be willing to act on whatever promptings we receive. This reminds me of the parable of the rich young man who asked Christ what lack I yet, he was humble enough to ask the Lord for guidance and direction but not willing to take the counsel that he received. If we truly want to become perfect in Christ, we need to have enough faith to act on any promptings we receive from the Holy Ghost, whether or not we want to do them. Heavenly Father ALWAYS knows best. So press forward with faith!!!
