I saw my favorite italian couple this week AGAIN and we had a sugar cane drink with them and got their numbers! We don't know how interested they are but I was happy to run into them again! We just had a lot of coincidences this week. We were exercising at the riverside this week and ran into this old man and then ran into him 3 more times this week and so we got his number as well and hope the elders can teach him. Our investigator pool this week started off with only 1 progressing investigator. SHE IS SO GOOD. Om Uian is 58 and she is so so sick, one of her arms is literally twice the size of the other one and she cant let it hang down straight because its so huge, it breaks my heart but she doesnt have enough money to go to the doctor and so she just suffers.. But she had lots of cool experiences with prayer this week and said as she prayed before she left her house she was able to bike to church and says that she just feels so happy at the church and so sick at home. She has so much faith and is progressing so well hoping to get her baptized in a few weeks!
Little Sombat was telling us how he forgot to pray one night and he had a nightmare that someone was choking him and so he said he didnt forget the rest of the week and has had good dreams ever since. He has a strong testimony of the power of prayer and brought his friend to church this week.
SO MANY MIRACLES CONTACTING THIS WEEK. We basically spent the entire day contacting on friday because we need some new investigators that will progress and we found 4 college students who are all rooming together who are all interested- srei puang, siang huan, mani and pim and one more girl from a part member family, thida. ALL 5 CAME TO CHURCH it was a miracle. The Lord really is involved in this work.
We had a water balloon fight with the missionaries in battambang this week which was pretty fun, it started pouring rain halfway through so we all got soaked. The weather in the rainy season is so crazy, I have never been in more of a downpour in my life its crazy fun.
This is something I really loved reading this week from President Monson:
In the book of Matthew in the Bible, we have another account of gratitude, this time as an expression from the Savior. A s He traveled in the wildernes s for three days, more than 4, 000 people followed and travel ed with Him. He took compassio n on them, for they may not ha ve eaten during the entire thr ee days. His disciples, howeve r,questioned, “Whence should w e have so much bread in the wi lderness, as to fill so great a multitude?” Like many of us, the disciples saw only what w as lacking.
“And Jesus saith unto them, Ho w many loaves have ye? And [ thedisciples] said, Seven, and a few little fishes.
“And [Jesus] commanded the mul titude to sit down on the grou nd.
“And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thank s, andbrake them, and gave to his disciples, and the discipl es to themultitude.”
Notice that the Savior gave th anks for what they had—and a m iraclefollowed: “And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of thebroken meat that was left seven baskets f ull.”4
We have all experienced times when our focus is on what we l ack rather than on our blessin gs. Said the Greek philosopher Epictetus,“He is a wise man w ho does not grieve for the thi ngs which he has not,but rejoi ces for those which he has.”5
I have seen so many miracles in my life as I am focusing on being grateful and thanking the Lord for all of the amazing things that I do have. He truly gives us so many blessings that we don't even realize. I love the Lord and I love this work!!!
